A paper titled “O-CITY Project (Orange: Creativity, Innovation & Technology): innovative tool of the Orange/Creative economy” was presented during the AEDEM 2019 Congress held in Sevilla (Spain) on 4th, 5th and 6th of June, 2019.

Written by Cristina Santandreu Mascarell, Asunción Pérez Pascual, José Marín-Roig Ramón and Oscar Morant Martínez, the paper addresses orange or creative industry and its relevance in nowadays economy, promoted by European Union through different programs such as Creative Europe, Creative European Cities and Erasmus+, where education takes the leading role in the design of the future of Europe.

Taking this into account and the opportunities it represents, the paper describes the project O-City as an opportunity to promote and develop creativity with the development of a platform where cities will be connected by their cultural and natural heritage through a virtual world. This means also fostering entrepreneurship (those who will create the multimedia products) and the creation of a network of cities that will be part of that O-city world.

The presentation really grabbed the attention of the audience who made some interesting questions about the possibilities that the platform and the project itself could represent to show the cultural heritage of not known villages, for example, and also to foster entrepreneurship in some areas.

The AEDEM Congress, formally XXXIII Annual Congress of the European Academy of Business Economics, gathered more than 150 national and international researchers and professors in Sevilla (Spain) to share knowledge and experience about different topics.
