We finally know each other! O-City project has started to walk today at Gandia (Spain) and we have also started to work and made some decisions about how the platform is going to be. It has been a day full activities.

How does EU Administration works? UPV and ‘MarkEUt Skills’ explained to the partners questions about quality and validation issues. We cannot forget that an important part of this project is related to economic and administrative management, so we have to stick to a plan from the beginning and set processes about that.

If we talk about O-City we are talking about content. We must know every single detail about Intellectual Property for the content we will create and share. For this reason, we invited a lawyer for us to understand what are the options and the better way to manage copyright issues.

Our partners from Thessaly University (Greece) are in charge of the work package that involves framework issues. That means: How do we start? Is as complicated as you imagine, so they are an important piece of O-City engine.

In order to keep working in a productive way, we have divided in five groups: Culture, Multimedia and Technical skills, Educational platform, Professional skills and Dissemination and Communication.

Culture
How we identify cultural realities? Which cultural assets we have to focus on? We are deciding now what sort of content will be available on the platform, so we have to be clear about the kind of cultural and natural heritage we will promote.

Multimedia and Technical skills
We aim to decide the necessary multimedia and technical skills are important for the people that take part of this project. As the platform will be content-based, is important to know the profiles of all the professionals that will be involved.

Educational platform
Creating an Innovative Educational Toolkit is part of O-City project. We are going to design Graduate Studies and key skills for the development of Creative professionals in Orange Sector.

Professional skills
We must define a Competences Schema with rubrics that can help universities to implement creative competencies and soft skills transversally in studies and to evaluate them. We will also define a process for accrediting these competences as a tool for encouraging students to improve their competences.

Dissemination and Communication
Is necessary to spread the word. Once we have the project running, we have to let people know what O-City is and what will become through time. For now, you can follow us on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram!

We are now taking baby steps, but the best is yet to come 🙂
