The O-CITY Territori Valencià Chair is pleased to present ‘The Legend of the Angel of Ayora’ with Artificial Intelligence: Innovation at the service of heritage.

.

.

Based on the book Leyendas y Tradiciones Valencianas I, by the writer Fernanda Zabala, this audiovisual work has been produced by the director Pedro Monteros Valdivieso.

.

In a new O-CITY publication, we present a short animated film that uses generative artificial intelligence to bring to life ‘The Legend of the Angel of Ayora’, honouring one of the most significant stories of the intangible heritage of the Valencian Community, transforming it into an audiovisual format that has been received with great emotion by the inhabitants of Ayora, Jarafuel and neighbouring towns.

.

This project has been made possible thanks to the support of the Diputación de Valencia in the framework of the Cátedra O-CITY Territori Valencià, and we are deeply proud to contribute a small grain of sand to rebuild so much of what was lost after the November flood. The production is a tribute to the resilience and richness of Valencian culture.

.

We would like to express our most sincere thanks to the Ayora Town Council for their collaboration in the dissemination of this project and to the Diputación de Valencia for their support, which has made it possible to bring this initiative to life.

This short film is not only a tribute to our cultural richness, but marks the beginning of a journey: we hope it will be the first of many stories of the world’s intangible heritage in 2025.
