Rediscovering the Legend of Manurria: Honour, Resistance and Freedom
.
The O-CITY Territori Valencià Chair is pleased to present a new animated film, produced and post-produced entirely with artificial intelligence tools and applications by the multimedia creator Pedro Monteros Valdivieso, and with the soundtrack by the talented musician Luca Bordonaro, based on ‘The legend of Manurria’ from the town of Sagunto (Valencia).
.
The legend of Manurria, from the book Leyendas y Tradiciones Valencianas by Fernanda Zabala (Carena Editors, 1995), takes us back to a past full of bravery. Captured with her husband Mandonio, Manurria confronted Consul Scipio with courage and dignity, refusing his demands and choosing honour over submission. In a final act of resistance, both preferred death to humiliation, becoming symbols of the Iberian struggle for freedom.
.
Thanks to the research of José Marín-Roig and the production led by Pedro Monteros Valdivieso, this powerful story has been brought to audiovisual format with an innovative approach. All the pre-production and production of the video was carried out using artificial intelligence tools, bringing a modern touch to this ancestral legend.
Monteros’ soundtrack and Bordonaro’s music add emotion and depth, creating an immersive experience for the viewer.
