“Incorporación de Software de Generación Multimedia con Inteligencia Artificial en la Plataforma O-City” (Incorporation of Multimedia Generation Software with Artificial Intelligence in the O-City Platform), is the title of the Final Degree Project recently presented by Jaime Peris Tchang at the Escuela Técnica Superior de Tecnología de Telecomunicación of the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV).
The constant technological advancement, especially in the field of Artificial Intelligence (AI), drives us to consider significant changes in virtually all areas of life. While it brings great benefits to humanity, it also poses potential challenges and problems.
Peris Tchang’s work focuses on addressing various issues raised in O-City, a project that focuses on implementing tools that encourage creativity in the creation of educational, cultural and heritage content. In addition, it seeks to solve problems related to the use of copyrighted resources and their use without the prior consent of the owner, in terms of the creation of content for O-City by registered users.
Generative artificial intelligence presents itself as the solution to these challenges. It is essential to establish appropriate regulations, such as the proposed EU AI Law, which is considered to be ground-breaking worldwide. These regulations must address copyright in both the training models and the sourcing of resources for the generated content.

In his research, Jaime Peris Tchang has evaluated various tools and software resources from the perspective of O-City and the user for content generation. He proposes the implementation in the O-City platform of artificial intelligence tools specialised in generating images from text. This development involves the creation of a web environment that allows users to generate images intuitively and easily, thus expanding the creative possibilities and publications on the platform.
This approach overcomes the limitations imposed by copyright (depending on the licence of the tool used), remaining in the public domain or under a CC0 1.0 Universal licence (Creative Commons 1.0 Universal). In this way, users wishing to publish about a region can create representative images based on descriptive text.
