The Faculty of Cultural Industry Management and the Faculty of Humanities of the Communication University of China (CUC) and the Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPV) meet in Valencia to explore collaborative projects with the O-CITY platform.

On 20 November, the Faculty of Cultural Industry Management and the Faculty of Humanities of the Communication University of China and the Polytechnic University of Valencia met at the UPV campus in Valencia to explore collaborative projects centred on the O-CITY cultural and natural heritage platform.

The meeting, which took place in the International Office of the Polytechnic University of Valencia, Nexus Building (6G), was attended by Nuria Llobregat Gómez, Director of Internationalization UPV, José Marín-Roig, Director of the Chair of Innovation of the Gandía Campus and Director of the O-CITY platform, Ignacio Yusim, O-CITY collaborator and ENHANCE UPV project technician, Iván Salazar Chang, president of Hub Deporte Valencia, Xinyu Zhang, member of the CQI – Valencia Innovation Experience Chair Committee, Zhang Jing, dean of the Faculty of Humanities of the Communication University of China, Zhang Hongsheng, dean of the Faculty of Cultural Industry Management CUC, Jiang Miaomiao, deputy director of the Department of International Exchange and Relations CUC, and Zhao Ying, deputy secretary of the Faculty of Humanities CUC.

José Marín-Roig highlighted the international vocation of the innovative heritage portal O-CITY, of the UPV. He also shared the intention to explore ways of cooperation of the O-CITY platform with the University of Communication of China. “O-CITY is an open platform where you can not only highlight the cultural wealth of a country but also participate in intercultural dialogue projects developed on the platform. This is the direction in which O-CITY META is heading, the next big bet of the Polytechnic University of Valencia for this project,” said Marín-Roig after the meeting.

Moreover, the deans of the China Communication University expressed their interest in actively participating in these projects by using the Silk Road as a powerful tool for intercultural dialogue, “if it was in the past, why not revive it in the present using O-CITY technology”, they said.
